March 2011, post one - LILY'S FIRST BIRTHDAY!!!

So I'm going to go ahead and post at the beginning of March, because there are a lot of cute birthday pictures to share. Lily hadn't been feeling good from Tuesday & it ended up lasting until Sunday. Unfortunately, Jeff was away working during Lily's actual birthday, so she and I had a girls day. I tried to capture pictures of the things she did that day, so let's start with those!

We started the morning off with a Happy Birthday kiss :)

She's so sweet and happy, even when she first wakes up!

We had a quick bath before breakfast

Some breakfast birthday Cheerios!

Waking up from a birthday nap

All dressed up in her birthday outfit

"I'm starting to smile for the camera, but I also squint at the red-eye reduction pre-flash!"

Sooooo excited to ride facing forward!!!

What a cutie pie!

I squeeeeeezed the "day" into birthday :)

Opening up a present from her friend Molli

You can't see it, but it's a baby doll

A Gators tutu from Sarah

Some new Pedipeds from the Basses

2 new DVDs- Baby Einstein & Minnie Mouse

That night, we had dinner with Nana, Poppy, & Granny. Lily got her first taste of cake, but was more concerned with getting the frosting off of her fingers. It was a sneak preview for her party on Saturday.

Just a little taste to start off

Going back for more

"Ohhhh - what is this squishy stuff???"

"Let me just wipe it right here - Mommy will never see it."

"Nana will clean off my fingers - YUCK!"
Lily had her one year checkup at the doctor, and she's doing great. She weighs 20lbs 13 1/2oz (50th percentile), is 30" long (75th percentile), and has an 18" head (90th percentile- it has to hold her big brain ;). Her exam was perfect, but the doctor said that Lily's fever/not feeling well could be because in addition to her two front middle teeth still coming in, she was on the verge of getting her top incisors as well! She also gave us the green light to switch her from formula to milk. We're trying to give her more table foods, but she is unfortunately picky with textures of foods.

On Saturday, March 5, we had Lily's party. We had a great time with some of our family and friends.

The birthday girl & her AWESOME outfit!

Birthday cookies

Setting up for appetizers

Some highchair birthday balloons

Photos - Lily from newborn to 1 year; her invitation; & a collage I made for her.

Lily's new favorite thing in the world- balloons!

The dessert table, just waiting on the cake

I really wanted to add this picture to show off my "the registers" ice bucket I won!

Birthday banner

Why didn't I wait until all the gifts were there? They were all so pretty in their colorful bags and wrapping paper!

Pushing her new teddy bear around

A hug from cousin Marley

Amanda & Maddie

Poppy & Nana

Aunt Beth, Poppy, & Nana

Aunt Beth, Poppy, Nana, & Aunt Tara

Jackson, Aunt Beth, Poppy, Lily, Nana, Aunt Tara, Marley, Granny, Jeff, & Me

I think Poppy likes wearing Lily's flowers waaaay too much!

OK, insert a LOT of gift pictures here - use your imagination & just be glad I spared you ;)

Cake & smash cake

It looks like she's going to dive in...
But she immediately regrets her actions!

Daddy helps her get in the swing of things

"Dad, what the heck?"

"These balloons are so much better than that cake!"

The next day we went to Kader's first birthday party. Lily wasn't feeling too well, so I didn't have any hands free to take pictures - I'll have to get copies from Tiffany & post them to the blog. But we did take a few pictures before going to the party, and then a few afterward.

All dressed up in her cutest party dress & pigtails :)

After the party, kisses from Nana for not feeling so good

A little love from Aunt Beth

Posing with Granny

And a little kiss for her too!

I really hope to keep this streak up! Look for another update at the end of March, and if you don't get an email that one has been posted, send me an email shaming me into it! :)

Love, Ashlee, Jeff, & Lily
